Shreveport man guilty of multi-agency police chase that ended near state line
CADDO PARISH, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) – A man was found guilty of fleeing a traffic stop and leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a pursuit that ended just south of the Arkansas state line.
The Caddo Parish District Attorney said Ethan Doyle, 33, was found guilty by a jury of aggravated flight from an officer and aggravated obstruction of highways of commerce. The charges stem from an incident on March 9, 2024.
Shreveport police attempted a traffic stop on Doyle's vehicle in the 1800 block of North Market Street. From there, he fled to Interstate 220 in Bossier Parish, turned back at Benton Road, and crossed I-220 onto North Market Street in Shreveport. Caddo Parish Sheriff's Deputies entered the chase on U.S. Highway 71 to State Highway 2, then onto I-49 North.
The chase ended just south of the Arkansas state line.
Witnesses testified to the state's claim that he fled police in a vehicle and, in the process, endangered human life. When Doyle returns to court on January 13, 2025, for sentencing, he faces up to five years for aggravated flight from an officer and up to 15 years with or without parole for aggravated obstruction of a highway.
