Shreveport suspect arrested for shooting at dog and driver

SHREVEPORT, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) — The Shreveport Police Department arrested a resident after getting a call about a shooting incident at a passing vehicle and a dog on Sunday.

According to the Shreveport Police Department (SPD), officers responded to a 'shots fired' call in the 2700 block of Ashton Street at 11 a.m.

Officers said upon arrival, they were informed a woman had fired multiple rounds at a passing vehicle as well as a dog nearby.

SPD detailed that Mourning was arrested for one count of aggravated assault with a firearm. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

An arrest report gives more details about what occurred before a man was shot to death Wednesday in the 3200 block of West Edgewood Avenue. Investigators observed surveillance video that showed the victim driving an orange Chevrolet Camaro with orange rims at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and New Kings Road, according to the JSO arrest report for Lavertis Reed, 20, who was charged with murder in the shooting. As the victim's vehicle crossed the intersection, a white vehicle with dark rims was observed on the surveillance video driving south at a high rate of speed on New Kings Road, the arrest report states.

The president of Tuskegee University in Alabama announced Monday that the school is being closed to outsiders and that its security chief has been fired in the wake of a mass shooting Sunday on campus. Mark Brown, president and CEO of the historically black university, announced the changes as the investigation of the mass shooting continued Monday and the local sheriff warned those responsible for the shooting that "we are going to find you." "The Tuskegee University community is heartbroken by what happened on our campus Sunday morning," Brown said during a news conference Monday afternoon.
