FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) - The latest Michigan Department of Education's #proudMIeducator video , taken at the Michigan School of Deaf in Flint, is completely silent honoring the experiences of school's staff and students – past, present and future.

In the video, Principal Mr. Rex Vernon and other educators describe the learning environment and support services available to students.

Michigan School for the Deaf educators provide academic and social learning – in American Sign Language and English literacy – for all students from infancy to age 26.

"We are fortunate to have different teachers and educators with different backgrounds – Deaf, hearing, children of Deaf adults – (and) different experiences, but all have committed to immerse themselves in the language and culture to make sure that what students have and the accessibility here is just right for them," Vernon said in the video.

Students at the school in Flint graduate demonstrate the knowledge to become contributing citizens in today's society.

Since 2016, the #proudMIeducator campaign has featured educators and supporters of Michigan educators who share their passion for education. The full playlist can be found at their YouTube .
