Silver Creek Church hosts annual ‘Operation Winter Wear

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC)—On Wednesday, Silver Creek Church distributed new coats and boots to those who needed them as the colder seasons returned.

Silver Creek put on its annual Operation Winter Wear. The event provides free clothes like t-shirts and books.

Lead Pastor Kevin Taylor says the church collects donations throughout the year and uses some of its thrift store proceeds toward new items. Taylor says the operation is a broad effort.

"It's just a way to serve people who have genuine needs," Taylor said. "So it's a way we can display the love of Jesus to our community."

You can shop by appointment on Thursday, Oct. 17, from noon until 4:30 p.m.

You can also visit the church on Friday, Oct. 18, for walk-ins from noon until 3 p.m.
