SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — The Siouxland Recovery Fund has announced that they are ending their individual assistance program for flood victims on Sept. 30.

The closure of the program – a collaboration between the Siouxland Recovery Fund, the Community Action Agency of Siouxland and the Salvation Army of Siouxland – will allow the fund to move towards long-term help for flood victims.

The program launched in August to support the immediate needs of flood victims in Woodbury, Union, Plymouth and Dakota Counties. Over $250,000 has already been awarded to over 190 households.

People whose homes were affected by the severe flooding are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as the funds are available until Sept. 30.

"Basically, we are shifting into more long-term efforts," Heather Hennings with the Siouxland Recovery Fund said. "So we're just trying to make sure that this individual assistance project gets to as many people that it can by the Sept. 30 deadline. And any additional funds that are raised will go into more long-term recovery."

If you live in Woodbury County, you can apply by contacting or visiting the Community Action Agency of Siouxland . If you life in Union, Dakota or Plymouth County, you can apply via the Salvation Army of Siouxland .
