Society of Martha Washington’s Pink Walk raises thousands for Laredo breast cancer patients

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Dressed in pink and sporting their walking shoes, many Laredoans came together at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) over the weekend for a great cause.

More than 200 participants gathered for the Society of Martha Washington's Pink Walk, aimed at raising funds for breast cancer patients in Laredo. The event celebrated faith, hope, courage, and love for those battling breast cancer.

"I'm very happy with this year's turnout. It's a community effort... truly. Thanks for coming," said Sammy Summers, the 2024 SMW Pink Walk chair.

A total of $25,000 was raised and will go towards supporting breast cancer patients at the Mercy Clinic.
