The 23-year-old son of a Pawlet Selectboard member shot to death with his wife and her 13-year-old son last weekend is being held without bail on three charges of aggravated murder.

Vermont State Police say '"significance evidence" links Brian Crossman Jr., of Granville, New York, to the deaths of his father, 46-year-old Brian Crossman Sr.; his stepmother, 41-year-old Erica Crossman; and his 13-year-old stepbrother, Colin Taft.

Brian Crossman was a member of the Pawlet Selectboard.

The bodies of the three victims were found early on the morning of September 15 inside the home on Vermont Route 133 that Crossman Sr. shared with his wife and stepson. Officers were responding to a report of a suspicious person.

Crossman Jr. was taken into custody by New York State Police on a warrant from Vermont. He is being held pending an appearance before a New York judge and his extradition to Vermont. His initial court appearance in New York was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday in Glens Falls.

The evidence against Crossman Jr. includes digital information, statements, injuries and interviews, police said.
