Stars Little League Report – Wednesday, July 3

– #1 SPORTS SOURCE– The Florida District 22 All-Star Tournament for 2024 continued Wednesday night with the 10/11/12 Baseball Division at Merritt Island Little League's Mitchell Ellington Park.
On Field No. 2:
Indian River City LL (visitor) met Port St. John LL. For Indian River City, Aiden Koukos and Charlie O'Connor reached base on singles but could not score. Meanwhile, Port St. John's Jaxson Plecki and Corbin Marman reached base 2-out-of-3 at-bats and scored twice each, while Mark Fordham scored in Port's 5-0 victory.
On Field No. 1:
Over on Field #1, Rockledge LL and Merritt Island LL met for their final tournament game. Rockledge's bats were silent until Eli Jackson grounded out and Henry Haag reached base on an error.
On defense, Jackson caught 2 flyouts at first base. But, Merritt Island would not be denied as Benjamin Hintz scored 3 times on two singles and a double while Lucas Dyer hit a 2-run homer and scored again in the second to lead them to a 15-0 win.
This win left Merritt Island undefeated and the District 22 Champions for the 10/11/12 Baseball division. They will represent Florida District 22 in the Section 3 Tournament being held at St. Augustine LL on Saturday, July 13th.
