State of Origin war of words escalates as Gorden Tallis hits back at Michael Maguire's 'glass houses' dig ahead of crunch decider in Brisbane

The feud between Gorden Tallis and Michael Maguire is showing no sign of easing off after the pair fired multiple shots at one another on Monday.

Tallis criticised the Blues' physical tactics, to which Maguire accused the footy great of hypocrisy.

'At the end of the day, they got their own opinions. I guess when you live in glass houses, they tend to throw things,' Maguire told Fox League's James Hooper.

'We're focused on what we're doing but you take into your memories I suppose about things that happen off the field.

'We had a player walk off the field and certain things were said.'

Tallis, who was on Monday night's NRL360 panel when the interview was aired, responded with several digs at Maguire, seemingly unfazed by the back-and-forth.

'How good is it,' Tallis said, laughing.

'All of us live in glass houses, actually he wouldn't know he never played Origin. You want me to keep it going?'

Veteran journo Phil Rothfield quipped that he is excited to see Tallis's response after a Blues win.

'I so hope New South Wales win because I'm going to sit here on Thursday week with you on this show. Are you going to be OK,' Rothfield said.

'We can take a loss, the funny thing is that you guys can't,' Tallis responded.

The 'Raging Bull' also mocked Maguire's club coaching record, with the Blues coach sacked by both Wests and Souths.

'You know what, I saw Madge in Melbourne at the airport and I thanked him. It's so good, it's refreshing.

'As the Tigers coach he had no personality.

'He might even get sacked from this job. He got sacked from Souths and sacked from the Tigers.'
