Steelers rookie WR Roman Wilson inactive for Week 3 vs. Chargers, Justin Herbert starting

We're just under 90 minutes out from kickoff of the Pittsburgh Steelers ' Week 3 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers , and both teams have officially announced their gameday inactives.

Absent on the inactives list today is rookie Troy Fautanu, who was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury suffered in practice this week. He is expected to miss "most if not all" of the 2024 NFL season, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Saturday evening.

The biggest surprise this week is the inactive status for Steelers third-round rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson, who had been dealing with an ankle injury suffered in training camp but was left off of the final injury report without a designation. It appears, as such, that he's a healthy scratch in this game, perhaps with the coaching staff hoping for more time to incorporate him in the offensive scheme. Still, given the lack of depth at the position for Pittsburgh right now, it's certainly surprising to see him left out of the active lineup.

Notably, for the Chargers, quarterback Justin Herbert is active and starting in this game after suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 2 that had him questionable ahead of this matchup.

Here's a look at the Steelers inactives for Week 3's home opener against the Chargers.
