Steelers Rumors: WR Help Eyed at 2024 NFL Trade Deadline After Brandon Aiyuk Pursuit

Perry Knotts/ The Pittsburgh Steelers' pursuit of a new wide receiver is still active.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that the Steelers are "still looking for a wide receiver" ahead of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline.

This comes after a failed push for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk in the offseason and another for then-Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams during the regular season. Aiyuk would eventually sign a four-year extension with San Francisco while Adams would be dealt to the New York Jets.

Pittsburgh has had a strong start to the year and currently leads the AFC North with a 6-2 record. The Steelers have hit the mark with two different quarterbacks in Justin Fields and now Russell Wilson occupying the starting role.

George Pickens has remained a solid target, compiling 35 catches for 548 yards and a touchdown thus far, but no other player has more than 300 receiving yards and Calvin Austin is the only other receiver with at least 200.

Adding another dynamic player would only aid Pittsburgh's chances at claiming a division title, but many of the top options have already come off the board. New York Jets wide receiver Mike Williams, as well as New England Patriots receivers Kendrick Bourne and K.J. Osborn, may be the more intriguing possibilities.
