Sterling Heights to offer photo opps at Upton House Museum
The Sterling Heights Public Library is teaming up with the city's Historical Commission to offer residents a photo opportunity in a festive Victorian setting at the Upton House Museum.
The museum will be open 1-4 p.m. Sunday, according to the Sterling Heights Community Relations Department.
Library director Tammy Turgeon, who serves as the staff liaison for the Historical Commission, said the event is a way to connect the city's rich history and create wonderful memories during the upcoming holiday season.
"We encourage our patrons to take a step back in time and embrace the spirit of the season, while also creating your own history at the Upton House Museum," Turgeon said in a news release.
Admission is a $10 donation. The house is located at 40433 Dodge Park Road at Utica Road on the city campus.
According to the release, visitors can expect to see the Upton House Museum decorated for the holidays, providing the perfect backdrop for Christmas photos. For those who want to fully embrace the Victorian era, a limited number of period costumes in various sizes will be available for use during the photo session.
Historical Commission members will be on hand to assist.
Each photo session is allotted up to 10 minutes. Guests will take the photos using their own devices.

The full tour requires stairs as the second floor is not wheelchair accessible.
