Still No Signs Of Heidi Planck Three Years Later

B.James33 min ago

Three years after she went missing and law enforcement was led to Chiquita Canyon Landfill, Heidi Planck remains missing.

Planck, then 38, was last seen on Oct. 17, 2021, when a surveillance camera caught sight of her walking her dog in an alley near the Hope + Flower apartment building at 1201 S. Hope Street in Downtown Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

Her dog was found wandering the 29th floor of the same building, and law enforcement officials say that forensic evidence was located inside the building, which has led detectives to believe that an "incident" occurred that resulted in Planck's death.

Planck's 2017 Range Rover was discovered on Nov. 4, 2021, in an underground residential parking garage a few blocks from that same apartment complex on S. Hope Street.

In late November 2021, LAPD investigators started excavating part of the Chiquita Canyon landfill a few miles west on Highway 126 of the greater Santa Clarita Valley.

"Local law enforcement began conducting excavation operations at Chiquita Canyon Landfill in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation and evidence that may have been brought to the landfill for disposal," read a Nov. 29, 2021, statement from Chiquita Canyon.

In February 2023, Planck was officially declared dead by a court ruling. A judge ruled that Planck's official date of death was the night she disappeared on Oct. 17, 2021.

Last year, Planck's family and her son have arranged to post several large billboards in Los Angeles in hopes of soliciting information that could lead to her recovery.
