Stolen car crashes in police chase, teen critically injured

BRIDGETON, Mo. — A teenager is in critical condition after crashing a stolen car during a police chase in St. Louis County.

Police say the incident began near New Florissant Road and Interstate 270. Officers tried to stop the car, which had been stolen earlier in an armed carjacking. Instead of pulling over, the driver sped away, leading police on a high-speed chase.

The chase continued onto I-270 before the car crashed into a utility pole at the St. Charles Rock Road exit. The teen was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
