Sunday, the first day of fall, looks sunny and warm

If you liked the last couple days of summer, you're going to love the first few days of autumn.

Portland will see sunny skies Sunday and a light breeze with a high temperature near 76 degrees, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service.

Cloud cover increases in the evening and Sunday nights low temperature will be about 58 degrees. That fast-moving trough is expected to exit the region by Monday, and forecasters expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 78 degrees.

The high pressure will continue to build and Tuesday is expected to see daytime temperatures up to 89 degrees, about 10 degrees warmer than normal for late September.

More fall-like weather will return Wednesday, with a 40% chance of rain, mostly after 11 a.m., and a high near 72.
