Support breast cancer survivors at the Tough Kookie Foundation’s 5K Race

TEXARKANA, Texas ( KTAL/KMSS ) — The Tough Kookie Foundation 's 4th annual Breast Cancer Race is Saturday.

It's one of the foundation's biggest ways to fund their mission to support breast and childhood cancer survivors. The 5K is Saturday morning at Texas A&M University Texarkana.

They say it's a unique opportunity to get some exercise, while showing your support for an important cause.

Texarkana connecting communities through language education

"While you're helping yourself, you can help so many other people. Not only through your financial contribution, but just by being there, you are raising awareness among the community awareness of the resources that are available to breast cancer survivors or people who are going through therapy after their diagnosis," says Tough Kookie Foundation Board Member Dr. Charles Fortenberry.

The opening ceremony begins at 8:00 a.m. The race begins at 8:30 a.m.
