(Miami, FL) - A Hialeah man facing a slew of charges including the second-degree murder of Cuban Reggaeton singer El Taiger is denied bond today.

Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer detained 49-year-old Damian Valdez-Galloso on the murder charge as well as tampering with physical evidence (the victim's body), and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Singer El Taiger was found shot in the head inside an SUV in Miami on October 3rd. He later died of his injuries. According to Miami-Dade police, El Taiger allegedly visited Valdez-Galloso's home on the morning of the shooting and there are no other suspects.

Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer also questioned if the state should up the charges to first degree murder against Valdez-Galloso.

The prosecutor telling the judge the state is still working the case and so far, "there is not enough evidence to prove premeditation which is needed for a first-degree murder charge."

The defendant was already a convicted of sexual battery on a minor in 2013, so he is also charged with possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.
