Sydney Sweeney shows off impressive driving skills as she gets behind the wheel of a race car

Sydney Sweeney experienced the action-packed racing world to the fullest while spending the day with 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney.

On Saturday, the Euphoria star, 27, shared a slideshow of fun pictures and videos from her afternoon doing laps at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina .

'This is awesome!' she captioned her post, which showed her in a blue racing suit. Thank you for showing me what I've been missing out on!'

In the first image, she can be seen beaming while holding onto her helmet in front of the car racing track in Concord.

Later, she leaned halfway out the driver's side window with her hands in the air for a celebratory picture that captured her joy in the moment.

The two-time Emmy nominee even included footage of herself as she drove on the track before posing for a photo holding up a thumbs up, alongside Blaney.

She tagged the company, NASCAR Racing Experience, which allows customers to 'take the wheel of a real NASCAR Race Car and drive solo on one of the nation's premier speedways.'

According to their website, the NASCAR Racing Experience can range from five to 48 minutes, real-time guidance from a spotter via 2-way radio and more.

In addition to loving driving, Sweeney, can drive stick shift and has refurbished multiple vintage cars.

The Washington native, who comes from a long line of mechanics, has documented her refurbishing projects on her social media accounts.

Sweeney originally launched Syd's Garage, her TikTok account, amid the COVID-19 pandemic when she was working on the renovations for her 1969 Ford Bronco.

Slowly but surely during those renovations, she began to realize the impact she could have on other females with an interest in automobiles, or people who just like the style that a car like a Ford Mustang represents.

'I've always been a huge fan of vintage vehicles,' she told BAZAAR.com in 2022. 'My babysitters (twin sisters) when I was little actually used to be race car drivers, and I'd go to the track a lot, and I thought I was going to be a race car driver when I grew up.'

Back in 2023, Sweeney raved to People about going off-roading in Moab, Utah where she navigated around obstacles like a '28-degree side slope at one point.'

She said conquering the Bronco Off-Roadeo experience made her feel 'like the coolest version' of herself.

'I need everyone to come see me do this, because I feel like I'll earn some cool points. When you're on the road, it makes you feel like, "Oh, I can do anything,"' she raved.

While looking back on her upbringing, the actress note that her parents put her 'behind the wheel the moment that' she 'could grab onto a wheel.'

At four, she said her 'papa would stand' her up 'on his lap and let' her drive up his driveway.

'I still have very vivid memories of doing that with him,' she recalled.

'My mom didn't let me drive an automatic until I actually got my license,' Sweeney noted. 'My mom taught me how to drive stick on the country roads. She would pull over and tell me, "Get out of the car. You have to go change the tire." I'm like, "Nothing's wrong with the tire." "You got to know how to change a tire." My mom's really good at putting me in situations where I don't know what to do, and then I have to figure it out.'

Sweeney added that her mother did a good job of teaching her to 'push through' fear.

Additionally, she says her expertise behind the wheel has even her an edge during auditions as people are often impressed that she knows how to drive manual.
