Takeaway assault leaves man with concussion

A man suffered concussion after being subjected to an assault in a takeaway, police have said. Avon and Somerset Police said the incident occurred on South Road in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, at around 21:30 GMT on 28 September. The 53-year old victim was "punched repeatedly" the force said, and is having medical assessments with eye specialists. The suspect is described as being in his 30s or 40s, and of a muscular build with a tattoo sleeve on his left arm. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark t-shirt with the letters 'NY' in white on the front, blue jeans and black trainers, police added. Related Internet Links Avon and Somerset Police A company affiliated with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones asked a federal judge on Monday to disqualify a bid by the satirical news outlet The Onion to buy Jones' Infowars at a bankruptcy auction, alleging fraud and collusion. The company, First United American Companies, which is affiliated with a Jones website that sells dietary supplements, was the only other bidder at the recent auction, offering $3.5 million. In a filing in federal bankruptcy court in Houston, a lawyer for the company asked the judge to declare it the winning bidder instead of The Onion. A former U.S. Army soldier who was court-martialed for fatally shooting a handcuffed civilian in Iraq two decades ago was sentenced on Monday to more than four years in prison for his role in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Edward Richmond Jr. attacked police officers with a metal baton during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol. Richmond, 41, of Geismar, Louisiana, said he immediately regretted his actions that day.
