Taylor Swift Has Been Leaning on Travis Kelce Following Fan's Tragic Death in Brazil

Taylor Swift has been "overwhelmed by grief" following the tragic passing of 23-year-old fan Ana Clara Benevides Machado during night one of the Eras Tour in Brazil, and she's reportedly been leaning on Travis Kelce, as well as her family.

A source tells Us Weekly that Taylor is "so grateful she’s had Travis,” and that “He’s been a huge support system for her right now. Her family has been there, but it’s different to have a boyfriend to lean on. She was completely beside herself and it’s been so hard for her to talk about.”

Taylor ended up canceling her plans to return home to the United States between shows, with a source telling Page Six prior her decision that “She doesn’t know her holiday plans yet. The Brazil concerts...She is devastated about a fan dying. The weather is extreme. It’s a mess she didn’t expect. It’s been a traumatic experience. It’s been a lot. She is going to decide today.”

Taylor wrote an emotional note to fans following Benevides Machado's death, saying "I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this. There's very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young."

She added, "I'm not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil."

While Taylor didn't directly mention Benevides Machado's passing when she returned on stage Sunday night (November 19), she performed an emotional rendition of "Bigger Than the Whole Sky," seemingly in tribute to her.

Lyrics to the song include "Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye / You were bigger than the whole sky / You were more than just a short time / And I've got a lot to pine about / I've got a lot to live without / I'm never gonna meet / What could've been, would've been / What should've been you / What could've been, would've been you."
