Taysom Hill ruled out for Saints-Eagles clash

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Saints will face the Philadelphia Eagles today at noon in the Caesars Superdome.

Taysom Hill was officially ruled out due to a lingering chest injury from their victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

Marshom Lattimore, who missed Week 2 with a hamstring injury, was a full participant in practice on Friday.

The Saints, riding high after dominant wins over Dallas and Carolina, look to maintain momentum as they go for their third straight victory.

SAINTS HEADLINES

  • Saints go from underdog to favorite over the Eagles
  • Drew Brees will be in the Dome for Saints-Eagles clash
  • Choppa hosts UMC worker Saints party
  • Surging Saints aim to rediscover their 'dome' advantage against the frustrated Eagles
  • Though Hill's absence shifts the offensive workload, the Saints still have a few key factors in their favor.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has had success against New Orleans in the past, combining for over 300 passing yards and 175 rushing yards with multiple touchdowns in two previous wins. The Saints defense, led by linebacker Willie Gay and defensive ends Carl Granderson and Chase Young, has been instrumental in harassing quarterbacks so far, and their ability to disrupt Hurts in the backfield will go a long way toward slowing the Eagles' offense.

The Saints' run game, led by Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams, has been stellar. Kamara has racked up nearly 200 rushing yards and four touchdowns, while Williams provides a bruising counterbalance. With the Eagles allowing an average of 157.5 rushing yards per game, the Saints will aim to exploit Philly's defensive gaps on the ground.

Derek Carr has thrived in the Saints' offense, completing 77 percent of his passes and spreading the ball to multiple targets. The Eagles' secondary presents a challenge, but Carr's ability to find playmakers will be key to New Orleans' passing success.

The Saints' faithful are eager to see their team continue its strong start, and an early lead could ignite the crowd and help tip the scales in their favor. A fast start and crowd energy could turn this into a lopsided affair for New Orleans.
