Teen hurt in Lawrence shooting near skate park
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lawrence police are searching for a shooter following an overnight incident where a 17-year-old was hit.
The police department says officers went to the skate park at Edgewood Park shortly before 1 a.m., after witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing drivers speed away from the area.

While officers didn't find the victim at the scene, they did find evidence of a shooting at the intersection of Maple Lane and Brook Street.
Officers later found the teen at a hospital where he was being treated for a gunshot wound to the arm. He's expected to recover.
