Terre Haute police investigating fatal accident involving train and bicyclist

Terre Haute police are investigating a fatal accident involving a train and a bicyclist that occurred at North 15th and Ash streets Thursday evening.

Police responded to the accident about 6:10 p.m. The bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Terre Haute Police Department's crash investigation team has been deployed to support the uniform division in conducting a thorough investigation, according to a THPD news release.

The intersection at the scene will remain closed for an extended period.

This investigation is ongoing, and further information will be provided as it becomes available and the appropriate notifications have been made, according to the release.
