LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Below average temperatures return for the holiday. Friday and this weekend look to be colder than Thanksgiving Day. Snow is possible in at least parts of Nebraska Thursday night, Friday and this weekend. Thanksgiving Day will be partly to mostly cloudy, cooler and breezy. It is going to be a chilly start with low temperatures in the low 20s to low 30s. Afternoon high temperatures look to be mainly in the low 30s to low 40s. Winds should be north and northeast at 10 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph making it feel even colder. There is a chance of snow in parts of the panhandle and Northwestern Nebraska in the afternoon and evening. (KOLN)Thanksgiving Day High Temperatures (KOLN) The chance of snow expands into Central and more of Western Nebraska Friday. Light snowfall accumulation is possible. The eastern third to half of the area will be battling dry air Friday so at this time there is only a small chance of flurries. It is going to be mostly cloudy to cloudy and colder with high temperatures in the low 20s to low 30s. It looks to be breezy too with northeast winds at 10 to 20 mph. That will put winds chills in the teens and 20s. (KOLN) Saturday looks to be mostly cloudy to cloudy and chilly. High temperatures will be in the upper 20s to mid 30s. Winds should not be as strong with speeds around 5 to 15 mph. Snow is going to remain possible with the best chance around Interstate 80 southward into Kansas. Light to moderate snowfall accumulation is possible. (KOLN) A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for much of Western Nebraska and part of the panhandle Thursday evening to Saturday morning. A few counties in the panhandle are in a Winter Storm Warning Thursday evening to Saturday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for a few counties in the panhandle Thursday evening to Saturday morning. Light to moderate snowfall accumulation is possible across much of the area between Thursday evening and early Sunday morning. The heaviest snowfall amounts look to be in the panhandle at this time. The forecast could change so stay tuned the next few days, especially if you have any travel plans. At this time, the further west you go, the better the chance of accumulating snow. (KOLN) (KOLN) Snow should wrap up in Eastern Nebraska early Sunday morning. Clouds will decrease through the day with high temperatures in the mid 30s to around 40. It is going to be chilly and breezy with wind speeds 10 to 20 mph. The first half of next week looks to be mostly sunny with temperature still mainly below average for late November. (KOLN) (KOLN)
