‘The Best Show on St. Joe’ showcases Rapid City artists

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Suzie Cappa Art Center held their fall art showcase Thursday night, inviting the community to enjoy themed artwork and a free meal.

The event, named 'The Best Show on St. Joe,' had a state fair theme. Artists crafted pieces with this in mind, and the art center provided food like nachos, caramel apples, and hot dogs to celebrate the showcase.

Gallery Director Haley Friedt said events like this help artists network with potential customers.

"We have some artists who have been here for 11 or 12 years now, which is wonderful," Friedt said. "The people in the community will say things like 'oh my gosh, I love this dog, maybe you can do a painting of my cat sometime.'"

More than 30 artists are a part of the Suzie Cappa Art Center.
