The Block fans have expressed concern for future contestants in the wake of Adrian 'Mr Lambo' Portelli's historic spending spree on the show. The billionaire businessman, 35, dropped a staggering $15.03million when he purchased all five Phillip Island properties, after saying 2024 would be his last year on the renovation series. Now, viewers on Instagram are convinced future homes on the show won't sell without the entrepreneur there to drive up bids and make eye popping offers. 'I do wonder where the block goes without propping up the auctions. It would've been crickets without him,' one user wrote. 'Who is gonna buy the houses next year?' someone else said, as a third added: 'I don't think we are gonna see these profits again, now that Adrian is done!' 'It won't be the same at auctions! No profits from next year anymore!' yet another commented. Someone else said: 'Adrian saying he is done with the block would be devastating to hear for any new contestants going on the show.' 'Say a prayer for the contestants next year. Nothing gonna sell,' another wrote. It comes after Portelli shocked viewers on Sunday when he purchased all five Phillip Island properties on The Block for a staggering $15.03million. The enormous spending spree broke series records, being the first time a single buyer has successfully bid on all the auction properties on offer. The businessman had earlier posted on social media he would be 'going out with a bang' and stunned the cast when he snapped up all their homes. Over the last three season of The Block, Portelli has spent a jaw-dropping $31.68million buying contestants' houses . Portelli first raised eyebrows in 2022, arriving at Omar and Oz's auction in a yellow Lamborghini, which earned him his flashy nickname. The billionaire initially wanted to snap up the Sydney mates' house but was outbid by serial Block buyer Danny Wallis . After he was accused of being a 'dummy bidder' who intentionally drove up the price of Oz and Omar's house, he purchased Sharon and Ankur's house after the auction. The property failed to sell on the day, so Portelli bought it for a casual $4.25million a few months later to prove his intentions had always been honourable. The headlines he drudged up landed Portelli back on The Block in 2023 where he bought three houses on Charming St in Hampton East. He purchased House 5 from Eliza and Liberty, House 1 from Kyle and Leslie, and made Block history by buying House 1 from Steph and Gian for $5million—sending them home with the current record winnings of $1.75million. Portelli has developed a reputation for his love of buying lavish properties during the show's auctions, after making his fortune through his giveaway business LMCT+. Combined with his property investing, the Melbourne businessman now has an estimated net worth of a whopping $1.03billion—he has also become known for his luxury collection of sports cars and other very rare items. The successful businessman, who hails from Melbourne's western suburbs, boasts luxury homes all around Australia, and last year he added a jaw-dropping Melbourne penthouse to his property portfolio.
