The Duluth Figure Skating Club surprises three members with special Midwestern Sectional sendoff
On Sunday morning, members of the Duluth Figure Skating Club celebrated the accomplishments of three members with a surprise sendoff in preparation of their trip to Plano, Texas for the 2025 Midwestern Sectional Singles & U.S. Ice Dance Final.
""I've been working really hard, to go down and qualify for sectionals, and I'm really excited," said Isabella Bowman.
"I've been skating for six years, and this has been a goal of mine for a long time, and I'm super excited to finally qualify," said Piper Linn.
"I've been skating for 2 years, and I think it's a big accomplishment for me," said Evan Shou.
The 2025 Midwestern Sectional Singles & U.S. Ice Dance Final is a steppingstone for the U.S. Skating Championships. Duluth Figure Skating Club's Evan Shou (age 10) will be competing in the Juvenile Boys category, Isabella Bowman (age 14) in the Intermediate Women category, and Piper Linn (age 16) in the Novice Women category.
The surprise celebration showed the club's support for their own, showering the three athletes with gifts, signs and love.
"It was and eye-opening event, for everyone, even though certain people are going, it's, we're representing our team, and everyone's super excited that we're going to go," said Linn.
The 2025 Midwestern Sectional Singles & U.S. Ice Dance Final runs from Monday, November 18th through Sunday, November 24th, in Plano, Texas.
Isabella Bowman will compete on Wednesday, November 20th, between 2:30PM-4:35PM in the Intermediate Women Short Program. Then she will compete on Thursday from 8:30AM – 11:25AM in the Intermediate Women Free Skate. Evan Lou will first compete on Thursday, November 21st, between 2:05PM – 3:50PM in the Juvenile Boys Free Skate. Piper Linn will compete on Friday, November 22nd, between 1:10PM – 3:25PM in the Novice Women Short Program. The she will compete on Sunday from 12:15PM – 3:20PM in the Novice Women Free Skate.
