Shelbourne suffered defeat in Galway with Jimmy Keohane's second minute strike proving the difference out west. Up at the Brandywell, a controversial late penalty from Pat Hoban rescued a point for Derry City against Shamrock Rovers, with the Candystripes now just three points off leaders Shelbourne. There were also big wins for Drogheda, who picked up a first away victory in 360 days at Bohemians courtesy of Frantz Pierrot's strike, while 16-year-old Mason Melia shone as St Patrick's Athletic defeated Waterford 3-0 to maintain their late push for Europe.
