The Lions are way, way healthier than Green Bay on Thanksgiving

DETROIT - The Lions (8-2) are looking to take a three-game lead in the division heading into December, and they’ll have a near-full complement of players at their disposal on Thanksgiving against the Green Bay Packers (4-6).

Only guard Jonah Jackson (wrist) has been scratched due to injury, while edge rusher Julian Okwara, defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs, defensive tackle Brodric Martin, receiver Antoine Green, cornerback Steven Gilmore and linebacker Trevor Nowaske are healthy scratches.

That means defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike is back in uniform for the first time in three weeks. The former second-round pick has been a healthy scratch lately, a bad sign about his future standing with the club. He enjoyed his first healthy offseason this past summer, sparking hope he was finally turning a corner. But that turn hasn’t happened yet, and his chances are running out on the interior of the defensive line.

While Detroit is nearly at full strength, the Packers aren’t so lucky, including scratching star cornerback Jaire Alexander about 90 minutes before kickoff due to a shoulder injury. Safety Rudy Ford, running back Aaron Jones, linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, receiver Dontayvion Wicks, tackle Caleb Jones and tight end Josiah Deguara are also inactive, while tight end Luke Musgrave and running back Emanuel Wilson were moved to injured reserve this week.
