Third person charged in fatal shooting of 7-year-old Cuyahoga boy at Canton hotel

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A third person has been charged in the fatal shooting of a 7-year-old boy Friday at a Canton hotel.

Joseph E. King, 33, of Canton has been charged with tampering with evidence in the shooting death of Ka'Marion Dolch, a resident of Cuyahoga County. He is currently being held at the Stark County Jail.

The child was shot at the Knights Inn in the 3900 block of Convenience Circle in Plain Township.

Ka'Marion was at the hotel with his father, William Dolch, 37, of Akron. Dolch is charged with reckless homicide, tampering with evidence, endangering children and illegally possessing a weapon after a felony conviction. He was previously convicted for theft in Cuyahoga and Summit counties and has a drug conviction in Medina County, according to court records.

Brittany Franko, 29, of Canton, was also in the hotel room. She called 911 when the child was shot, according to published reports. She is charged with complicity to commit reckless homicide, endangering children and obstruction, court records show.

Two other children were in the hotel when the shooting took place, according to News3 Cleveland.

Federal agents arrested Dolch on Friday in Canton.
