Thruway ramp closure to begin Monday, Sept. 23
SALINA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The New York State Department of Transportation is alerting drivers of a ramp closure coming up on Monday, Sept. 23.
The NYSDOT said Interstate 90's Exit 36 (Watertown/Binghamton) eastbound and westbound ramps to Interstate 81 northbound will be closed to traffic.
The ramp closure will be in effect from 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, and last through Friday, Sept. 27, at 5 p.m. The closure is to install noise barriers along I-81 northbound, as part of the I-81 Viaduct Project.

During the closure, drivers will be advised to follow posted detours.
The DOT also wants to remind drivers to slow down when driving through work zones and to always pay attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.
Construction activities may change based on weather conditions.
