Anna S. Smith, 86, of 22 Grant St., Shickshinny, died Friday morning in her
home.
Anna was born in Mocanaqua on Sept. 25, 1917, a daughter of the late John
and Sophie Macuski. She had been employed at the former Ronny Dress Factory.

A member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Mocanaqua, she enjoyed crocheting and
watching baseball, especially the Phillies since 1952.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1987; sisters, Stella
Cardinale and Mary Mickolichi; and brother, Peter Macuski.

Remembered by her daughter, Mrs. Richard (Kathleen) Noss, with whom she
resided; son, Joseph Gurne, Berwick; three sisters, Josephine Lenzine and
Helen Katrainak both of Shickshinny; Amelia Waselski, New Jersey; several
grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Entrusted to the care of the Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck, where a prayer
service will be held 9:45 a.m. Monday, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Liturgy of
Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Anthony Generose, celebrant.
She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the parish cemetery.
