The high-school football games have begun, and sweaters are coming out of summer storage. It’s time for that annual rite of autumn – yes, the Dietrich Fall Film Festival is upon us once again. With 16 foreign and independent art films compressed into a two-week schedule, it might be hard to decide. Those celebrating at tonight’s marathon opening gala will see ‘The Intouchables’ and ‘Moonrise Kingdom.’ Other films to opt from through Oct. 4 include ‘2 Days in New York,’ ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild,’ ‘Farewell, My Queen,’ ‘Headhunters,’ ‘Hysteria,’ ‘The Invisible War,’ ‘The Magic of Belle Isle,’ ‘The Queen of Versailles,’ ‘Robot & Frank,’ ‘Safety Not Guaranteed,’ ‘To Rome with Love,’ ‘Wild Horse, Wild Ride,’ ‘We Have a Pope’ and ‘Your Sister’s Sister.’ The theater is at 60 E. Tioga St. in Tunkhannock, and the schedule can be found at dietrichtheater.com.
