They can't all be winners. The Yankees lost the series finale in Seattle on Thursday afternoon, dropping a tedious one-run game after the Orioles walked off the Giants in Baltimore. The AL East race is far from over yet, as while the magic number is six, this weekend is the last series before the Yanks and O's square off in the Bronx for three massive games from September 24-26. It still feels like the division could come down to that. Stay tuned.

While the O's host the scorching hot Tigers, the Yankees go out to Oakland for what will likely be their final series at the Coliseum. Matt will have the preview post for that three-game set, and he'll also discuss in the Rivalry Roundup how those surprising Tigers grabbed a share of a Wild Card spot. Sam will analyze the historically loaded AL MVP race, Madison will answer your mailbag questions, and with the Minor League Baseball season nearing its close, Smith will run through a whole bunch of Baby Bomber position players who made an impact on him this year (some positive, some negative, and some ... odd).
