Although Sunday was more interesting than Saturday, the Yankees quickly shook off a two-run opening salvo from the A's and polished off their first sweep since the end of July. The A's are a better team than ones the Yankees should've swept within the past month and half, like the White Sox and Angels, but this time, the Yanks got it done. The magic number is down to one, and any win in the upcoming three-game set against Baltimore will clinch the Yankees' 21st AL East title and their third in the last six years.

This is the final offday of the regular season, and it's at least a somewhat-light day on the site. However, Jake will follow Peter's bid last week with his attempt at sussing out the Yankees' 2024 playoff roster. We'll also have Madison on the Rivalry Roundup, John with the 1999 Yankees Diary entry, Nick S. on Anthony Rizzo and the uncertain first-base situation, and Madison again with the last regular-season mailbag prompt of 2024.
