The National League had the spotlight yesterday, and they had some interesting matchups play out. The Mets and Phillies continue to take massive swings back and forth, with another New York comeback nearly culminating in a 2-0 Mets lead before Nick Castellanos walked it off to even that series. On the other side, San Diego took it to the Dodgers in a 10-2 rout featuring plenty of home runs and some unfortunate scenes with fans throwing things on the field around Jurickson Profar. Ugly moment aside, the Padres and Mets both look like threats to pull off a pair of upsets.

The Yankees will have their hands full attempting to avoid that fate for themselves, and we'll have plenty of topics to hit on ahead of their Game 2 clash with the Royals tonight. Josh starts us off with a fuller recap of the NLDS action, and then Peter dives into a scouting report on Game 2 starter Cole Ragans and how the Yankees can attack him. John looks into how Oswaldo Cabrera acquainted himself at first base and the tutelage he's getting from the veteran Anthony Rizzo, before Jeff goes into the 1999 Diary and that team's path to a 2-0 lead of their own. Finally, I'll be back later today to open up the mailbag ahead of a wild week of postseason baseball.
