Toddler dies after falling into pool at Antioch apartment complex

ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) confirmed that a toddler died after falling into a pool at an Antioch apartment complex.

The Nashville Fire Department (NFD) responded to a call about a toddler who reportedly drowned Thursday night. MNPD confirmed that the toddler was a 4-year-old girl and an unknown boy jumped in the pool to pull her out. That boy left the scene before officers arrived.

Metro Dispatch told News 2 that a call came in at roughly 7 p.m. stating that a toddler had drowned in a community pool at the Magnolia Apartment complex in Antioch. The callers were walked through CPR over the phone and when police arrived, people were still performing CPR.

NFD medics then took over and transported the patient to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
