TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Valdosta State football learned their NCAA tournament fate on Sunday evening; a number one ranking and a well-earned bye in the first round. The Blazers beat West Florida 28-7 on Saturday night to win the Gulf South Conference outright and finish the record season 10-0. Following the win, Valdosta State head coach Tremaine Jackson reflected on how far the program has come since he took over in 2021. "Two years ago, people wanted me fired, they wanted our staff fired," he said. "And you look at us two years later, we're back to back Gulf South Conference champions, outright this time and undefeated. Man, God is good." They will face the winner of Miles College and Carson-Newman on November 30.
