TRAFFIC ALERT: Critical Crash Closes Ocean Blvd. In Boca Raton

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A critical crash just after 12:30 p.m. Friday has closed Ocean Boulevard in the area of 2300 South Ocean. The road is closed in both directions.

Sources connected to the police and paramedic response tell BocaNewsNow.com that man, possibly in his 70s or 80s, was struck by a car on Ocean Blvd. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Delray Medical Center, the area Trauma center. It was not clear if his injuries are life threatening.

It is not known if anyone else was injured. Police are on the scene investigating what happened. We do not know if the victim was in the street or if a driver lost control of a car and ended up on a sidewalk. We expect to have more details later.

As of 12:45 p.m., police are encouraging motorists to stay away from the area. Expect significant traffic issues as the investigation continues.
