Travis Kelce: DeAndre Hopkins Has Made Chiefs 'Better Already' Since Titans Trade

Christian Petersen/ Travis Kelce says the Kansas City Chiefs are "better already" since acquiring wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans on Thursday.

All that's left is for Hopkins to work on his connection with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kelce told his brother Jason Kelce on Wednesday's podcast .

"He knows how to win football games, he knows how to be accountable," Kelce said about Hopkins (18:27 mark.) "You don't need to tell that guy much. He gets it. He gets it, and he's only made us better already. And I promise you, as he gets more incorporated into the offense, and gets more in tune with Pat, and how Pat likes to do things, and how he likes to do things for Pat, I think all of that will just make him a very vital part of this offense.

"And it's fun to have him in the building. It is. Like I said, he's swag champ, just the coolest guy you know. He definitely juices up the room, juices up the huddle."

Hopkins played 22 snaps in his Chiefs debut on Sunday, participating in 32.4 percent of the team's offensive snaps just three days after he was traded, per NFL.com's Grant Gordon .

He made two catches on three targets for 29 yards to help his new team claim a 27-20 road win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

"Rewatching that game, man, he was out there breaking guys off," Kelce said.

Kelce said that the five-time former Pro Bowler would "without a doubt" get more targets in upcoming games. According to Kelce, the Chiefs offense had finalized their game plan for the Raiders on Wednesday, the day before Hopkins arrived in Kansas City.

The Chiefs star tight end isn't the only person who expects more production from Hopkins going forward. Kansas City head coach Andy Reid also said the team plans to help Hopkins "fit in more" in future games.

"He was chomping at the bit on the sideline wanting to play," Reid told reporters on Monday about Hopkins' Chiefs debut. "And at the same time, knowing that he didn't have all of it down so there was a patience there, but he was into the game and I think you'll be able to see more this next game."
