Tributes to '70s soft rock, Neil Young, Bob Seger -- and Celtic rockers -- coming to Musikfest Cafe
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Tributes to soft rock of the 1970s and '80s, to Neil Young and Bob Seger — and a popular Canadian Celtic-rock band — all have been announced for upcoming shows at Musikfest Cafe at ArtsQuest Center.
Yacht Lobsters, which plays retro-rock from 1970s and '80 acts such as Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates and Toto, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 10. Tickets are $20-$35.
Broken Arrow, a tribute to Neil Young, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 11. Tickets are $25-30.
Hollywood Nights: The Bob Seger Experience, will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 7. Tickets are $20-45.
And Celtic rockers Enter The Haggis, the Toronto-based band that has played its edgy blend of rock and Celtic music at Bethlehem's Celtic Classic festival, will perform at 7 p.m. March 9. Tickets are $20-45.
Tickets for all the shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Nov. 15 at the SteelStacks website or at its box office at 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.
The announcements continue a trend at Musikfest Cafe to book tribute acts and cover bands. In June, ArtsQuest announced more than a dozen such shows for the venue's lineup.
And Boat House Row-A Yacht Rock Experience, another cover band that plays soft-rock hits of the 1970s and '80s, is scheduled to play Musikfest Cafe tonight, Nov. 15, and Saturday, Nov. 16.
Tickets, at $25-$35, remain available for both shows .
Second stop of tour
Yacht Lobsters previously played ArtsQuest's Concerts on the Grange in May at Upper Macungie Township's Grange Park. The New York-based, eight-member band says it plays the "butteriest soft rock of the '70s and early '80s."
Broken Arrow also played in the Concerts on the Grange series, as well as at the Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks free summer concert series in 2017.
Hollywood Nights: The Bob Seger Experience is a 10-piece New Jersey-based band that re-creates Seger's hits and more. It has performed at area venues including Penn's Peak near Jim Thorpe.
For more than 25 years, the five-piece Enter The Haggis has been a favorite at Bethlehem's Celtic Classic and other festivals nationwide. It also performed on "Live with Regis and Kelly" and A&E's "Breakfast with the Arts."
