Jul. 4—Kalispell Public Schools school board of trustees is seeking a candidate to fill a vacancy in the high school district representing Marion, Olney-Bissell, Pleasant Valley, Smith Valley and West Valley.

Board member Krista Buls, who was elected to a three-year term in 2023, has resigned. School district officials did not immediately provide Buls' resignation letter to the Daily Inter Lake.

The appointed trustee will serve until the next regular school election in May 2025.

To be eligible a candidate must be a registered voter residing in one of the towns listed. Prospective trustees should be able to serve impartially without conflicts of interest.

Interviews will be held Aug. 6 with a recommendation presented to the school board Aug. 13.
