Tuesday Cheese Curds: Packers have plenty to work on heading into their bye week

E.Garcia31 min ago
Two things are true about the Packers : they're in a good spot at 6-3, and they've got a lot of work to do to join the contenders in the NFC. Their loss to the Lions showed both of those facts in stark reality.

The Lions clearly outclassed the Packers on Sunday. The Packers are not ready to go toe to toe with a team like that, not if they're going to execute the way they did this week. Their own penalties and miscues sunk them beyond recovery.

But even among the dismal loss, there were bright spots. Jayden Reed remains a dynamic playmaker. The Packers' run game looks like it can move the ball on anyone. Even the defense had, on balance, a pretty good day, allowing just 17 points (with another seven going to Detroit courtesy of Jordan Love).

Identifying the gap is one thing and closing it is another. But at least the Packers know what they have to do in the second half of the season.
