Two displaced after electrical fire in Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Two residents have been displaced after a house fire in Peoria on Monday.

According to the Peoria Fire Department, at approximately 5:00 p.m., they responded to a house fire at the 300 block of East Forest Hill Avenue near the intersection of North Peoria Avenue.

After arriving, firefighters saw smoke coming from the second floor of the two-story home, where firefighters used two hoses to extinguish the fire.

Fire department responds to house fire in Normal

Two people in the home managed to get out before firefighters got there.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical fire, according to investigators who arrived at the scene.

The damage was estimated at $20,000 according to the fire department.

The local chapter of the Red Cross was on the scene to help those who were displaced.
