U of I warns residents to avoid Neil St. due to flood hazard

CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The University of Illinois is warning residents to avoid areas around Neil Street now.

According to an Illini-Alert sent out by the University, there is a flooding hazard at the Neil and Kirby viaduct and the Neil and St. Mary's Road viaduct.

WEATHER NOW: Wet & windy conditions expected through Tuesday afternoon

The alert was sent out around 8:45 p.m. on Monday night.

Students and community members are asked to avoid the area, and to take an alternative path if possible.
