Two pedestrians hit in overnight crash in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating after two people were hit by a car early Saturday morning in Kansas City, Missouri.
According to the Kansas City Police Department, just before 2 a.m., officers were dispatched near the Midtown-Westport neighborhood — West 39th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue — on reports of a pedestrian injury crash.

Upon arrival, officers found two pedestrians, one with critical injuries and one with serious injuries, at the scene. Both were taken to a hospital by emergency responders.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the two pedestrians had been crossing 39th Street when a Honda Accord approached a green light at the 39th and Pennsylvania intersection.
As the Honda drove through the green light, the pedestrians walked directly in front of the car and were hit, police said.

When law enforcement and emergency responders arrived, the driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigations. Police said there were no signs of impairment.
