Two-alarm fire in Brunswick leads to one hospitalization, extensive damage

One person was hospitalized after a house fire caused extension structural damage in Brunswick, according to the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services (FCDFRS).

Crews arrived to find heavy fire raging at 19 E D Street after 9 p.m. on Saturday. FCDFRS officials said that they quickly evacuated the two-story single-family home, as well as two neighboring houses.

The crew requested rapid intervention dispatch (RID) and a 2nd alarm,

A porch roof collapsed as firefighters were deploying lines on the building. Fortunately, no first responders were injured in the collapse.

Firefighters confirmed that they were able to put out the house fire in 90 minutes and protect both neighboring homes from extensive fire damage.

One person was taken to the hospital for evaluation. The area's fire marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
