TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A student walking to school Thursday morning was struck by a vehicle. The student was in a crosswalk near Moore Middle School, where he attends classes. He received minor injuries, according to Tyler ISD Chief Communications Officer Jennifer Hines, and was taken to a local hospital to be checked out. Hines asked that drivers remember to be extra cautious when driving in and around school zones, especially in the morning hours when students are walking or riding bikes to school or are being dropped off, and in the afternoon hours when they are headed home. It is unclear whether the driver was ticketed, however, Tyler Police Department PIO Andy Erbaugh said the driver stayed at the scene. No arrest was made.
