Sheehan, the band's guitarist, died in April 2023 after a short, undisclosed illness. The 46-year-old was married to Rina Sheehan, and they had three children together. In a post on Instagram, Power shared a picture of himself and Sheehan enjoying a cup of tea near an open fire, taken before the band was launched into stardom. "Happy Birthday Mark, looking back to simpler times in 2006, just two friends, a beach, and a cup of tea by the fire," he said. "This was before the music, the tours, and the world knowing our names. Miss you, Brother. Here's to the memories that keep you close." The Script's official Instagram account also shared a picture of Mark, saying they were celebrating their "brother." "Today, we're celebrating Mark—our brother, our compass, and a true force of nature," the post said. "His stories, laughter, and the energy he brought to every moment keep his spirit close to us every day. "It's hard to capture the depth of what he meant to us and to everyone who knew him, but his presence is still here, guiding and inspiring us. "Until we meet again, brother. Happy birthday, Mark — Danny and Glen." The Script was formed in Dublin in 2001. The band's eponymous debut album was released in 2008 and went to number one in both the UK and Ireland. It featured hits such as We Cry, Breakeven, and The Man Who Can't Be Moved, with the latter peaking at number two in the UK singles chart. The band has released six studio albums and one compilation project, Tales From The Script – Greatest Hits, which dropped in 2021. Six of these albums peaked at number one in the UK charts, while their third album, Number 3, reached number two. Bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Kings of Leon, Radiohead, Blur, and Muse also have six number-one records to their names, according to the Official Charts.
