Samantha Armytage 's new show The Golden Bachelor has been scouting for contestants in a very unusual way, it has been revealed.

A talent scout for the Channel Nine show was spotted handing out business cards to attendees at Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney on Tuesday.

Casting agent Ivanna Tang opted for the unusual method of attempting to recruit racegoers to the upcoming spin-off show, according to the Daily Telegraph .

Producers are said to be busy behind the scenes working on casting their eligible Bachelor and are hoping to finalise his leading role in the coming weeks.

Nine secured the rights for The Golden Bachelor in Australia and Samantha has been signed up to host the reality dating show.

Samantha got involved with the casting call in recent weeks, urging people to give their family members a 'nudge' and sign up for the show to find their second chance at love.

The Golden Bachelor is a spin-off of The Bachelor series, but differs in that the contestants of the reality dating show are people in their 50s and 60s.

The first US version of The Golden Bachelor starred father-of-two and widower Gerry Turner, 72, with a Golden Bachelorette version then launching with widow Joan Vassos, 61, looking to find love.

The US version of the show has been wildly successful, with its finale garnering 6.1million viewers, making it the most watched final episode of the American Bachelor series since 2021.

Samantha left her employer of 21 years Channel Seven to move to rival Nine to host The Golden Bachelor in a huge career shake-up.

It is not the first time she has helmed a dating show as she was the face of Seven's popular series Farmer Wants A Wife this year.

Samantha recently gave an insight into her shock network move as she told The Kyle and Jackie O Show that Nine had been 'very welcoming'.

Shock jock host Kyle Sandilands kicked off the interview with a very direct question: 'What was that like when you cheated [on Seven]? Was it hard to cheat?'

As Samantha laughed off the comment, Kyle, 53, added: 'Did Channel Nine take you out and romance you with the dinners and the limousines?'

The TV personality smoothly side-stepped the question and responded: 'Channel Nine, they have been very welcoming. Very welcoming indeed.

'It's been a really nice move for me and a very good fresh start at this age.'

Samantha also recently told 2GB's Ben Fordham why she left Sunrise back in 2021 after eight years as co-anchor on the breakfast show .

'Look, I just had enough. I've done it for a long time. You know what those hours are like, it is quite gruelling,' she said.

Sam added she 'used to get a lot of attention' from Sunrise, which was becoming 'pretty full on'.

'I just needed a break,' she continued.

'The time was right and life had changed. I just got married, my mum had died, everything had changed and I knew the time was right.

'I'd had enough, and you know I like a good horse metaphor—I'd ridden it to the top, I'd done all I could do and it was a good time to step out.'
